The Tail and Boom !!

Tail control links were a little tight on the bushes, hand turned drill helped for a bearing fit.

Blade holders came already made, just make sure grip retaining screws are tight.
Another ball kink to screw in, again hole needed opening out to 1.8mm and I found this
to be a blind hole, too shallow for the ball link. This part is not like the smaller T-rex.

I drilled the hole bigger and into the cavity between the two bearings to take all the thread of
the ball link as above will show.

Once all links are nice and free screw together. Tail controls must be free to move
but without any extra play!

The tail case is like the 450 XL but without the belt roller.

The ball fixing hole in tail control arm being drilled (1.8mm)

Little CA glue on thread.

At this point I thought it would be better to make up the tail boom 'off' the heli.
12 screws removes the tail boom case from the frames mking it easy to build on the work bench.

Tail case fitted to boom, belt feed down boom ready for drive pully.

Fitted with blades and fin, kit supplied with Carbon Fiber blades !

Before you put this end on make sure you have pushed the two control guides onto the boom !
Fit belt with the correct twist and adjust belt tension as manual, not too tight.
Servo mount plate is also Carbon Fiber.

Here the complete tail is ready to go back between the frames. Note the guides
just above the rule with horizontal fin. Take your time and remember to make sure links
to the tail blades are easy to move but without play!
