Here you can see I am testing the BEC. It takes the 7.4 volts from the Rx Li Po
and converts it to 5.8 volts for the Rx servos etc. Some servos, like the one I am using
on the tail 9254, only can take 5 volts so Align supply the small 5.1 volt regulator that
plugs in-line with the feed out of the gyro into the tail servo. You can also see the battery
monitor
on the side of the BEC.

I used the RH side for wiring. I fitted the BEC at this angle so I can see the battery
charge LED's when flying.

Front veiw of the battery and velcro straps.

LH view showing the balance lead, I will be making a converter lead to enable the use
of the Flight Power balancer.

Rear view of tail servo, 5.1v converter, RX Li-Po, BEC and RX at bottom of the frames.

Tools for setting up the pitch and rudder/gryo.

Clip pitch gauge on blade, adjust the red part to keep bubble level and flybar parallel
to the black frame of gauge.

Below read markings, here we see negative 1.5 deg of pitch.

In the Tx pitch settings you adjust the pitch of the blades to the manual as
a starting point and make adjustments to suit your flying. Same with the throttle
curve but If you find the
motor and battery too hot increase throttle curve
and decrease the pitch curve (normal flying not hard 3D).

Gyro should be set as per makers instructions, basic steps for the 401 is to turn
Rx on with Tx set to HH mode.
Do not move the heli, turn off HH, hover the heli and adjust servo rod so it keeps
the tail, don't change trims of Tx for this.
When all is well in this mode land,
do not disturb the rudder. Quickly cycle the HH
select switch on Tx three times
ending up in HH mode.
The heli should now hover in both modes with no drift.
Always turn on after Tx is set to HH mode (AVCS).

Battery temperature.

Now for testing motor temperature.
